Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the top ten and finally separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.

It is his initial title after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after March of 2023.

The win also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's retrieving strategy and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to push for a decider.

He rescued 4 early chances in a close final set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
